Tooting My Own Horn

10 Mar

So, I think that I have the best baby in the world and I am NOT being bias.  Okay, so maybe I am, but don’t ALL parents “toot their own horns” about their kids and think that THEIR kids ARE the BEST?  Hey, I just acting like all parents, right?

When Hart is being burped on our shoulders, she will lift her head and look around.  The duration of time as increased and she is up to about 10-15 seconds.

Today, Wednesday, March 9, 2011 was Hart’s first tummy time on her play mat.  She was hanging out looking just to one side, but then she did it!  She lifted her legs then her head and held it for about 5-7 seconds.  Do we see the next Nadia Comaneci, Mary Lou Retton or Kerri Strug?  Okay, I will admit I seem to know too many gymnastics by name.  Speaking of Kerri Strug, that makes me think of the Saturday Night Live video spoof of her by Chris Kattan.  See video below, it’s funny!

Getting back to my point, Hart is only 5 weeks old, to be exact she is 5 weeks and 2 days.  In the book, Your Baby First Year, Week by Week, (thank you Julie Valot for the book!) Hart is supposed to reach physical development of holding her head up at a 45-degree angle for a few seconds while laying on her stomach in the 6th week.  That means, Hart is ahead of schedule!  That’s my Honey Bun!  Yeah call me crazy, and roll your eyes.  I am too!  I hope you know that I am being over the top on purpose.  Don’t get me wrong, I love watching Hart grow, but these first weeks and months are a little boring.  I can’t wait for her to interact more which is why I am looking forward to her development.  Enough said!
